PRODUCT & WORKFLOW GUIDE
A clearer record of consignor commissions and payouts
A sale, a commission balance and a payout are separate events. ResaleHQ keeps a traceable owner ledger so a shop can understand what an owner earned and what has already been recorded as paid.
Recognize the share after payment
The workspace tracks commissions after an invoice has been fully paid. The split excludes sales tax. In the illustrative example on the product page, a $200 sale before tax with a 60% owner share produces $120 for the owner and $80 for the store.
Use the agreed share from the owner record and review the invoice status before reconciling a balance. An unpaid invoice is not the same as an earned, paid-through commission.
Keep adjustments visible
Refunds reverse owner and store shares proportionally. The ledger also records posted booth-rent entries. Rent posting is manual, so a stored monthly rent amount does not mean a recurring charge has already been posted.
Review the original sale alongside the reversal or rent entry when an owner questions a balance. Preserve the difference between the item’s selling price, taxes and later adjustments.
Record a payout only after handling the money
Payout recording tracks payments made outside the app. It does not move funds to the consignor’s bank account. Reconcile the external payment and the ledger record together to avoid treating a bookkeeping entry as a transfer.
Automatic bank payouts and a self-service consignor portal are planned, not available in the current release. Contact the team to discuss your payout process before adopting the workspace.
